Press Release Body = The John Dau Sudan Foundation, a humanitarian organization
established to assist in development and operations of health and education
facilities in Southern Sudan, will host a fundraising event from 6pm to 9pm
Wednesday, Sept 5 at the Glenwild Club and Spa in Park City, UT.

John Dau, a survivor of the Sudanese civil war and a 2007 National Geographic
Emerging Explorer, will be the evening¬’s featured speaker. Most notably, John is
one of the “Lost Boys” featured in the documentary film “God Grew Tired of Us” and
the author of “God Grew Tired of Us: A Memoir.” He is now spearheading a national
effort to raise funds and awareness to establish and operate five medical and
educational facilities for his homeland. The evening’s program will feature clips
from the film “God Grew Tired of Us” directed by Christopher Quinn and co-directed
by Tommy Walker. The film won both the Documentary Grand Jury Prize and the Audience
Award at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. The film was narrated by Nicole Kidman;
Brad Pitt was one of the executive producers. Clips of the film will be presented by
John Dau and Chris Ball, Co-founder/COO of Newmarket Films (the North American
distributor of the film). “God Grew Tired of Us” was released on DVD on Aug. 14,
2007.

Also being presented are clips from “The Miracle Doctors,” a National Geographic
documentary about ophthalmologists Geoffrey Tabin, M.D. and Alan Crandall, M.D., two
University of Utah clinicians who have agreed to assist the John Dau Sudan
Foundation. They travel around the world providing free cataract surgeries to
restore eyesight to indigenous people of third world countries. The doctors will
visit Southern Sudan in early 2008 to initiate their eyesight program. Susan Reeve,
Director, Explorers Program and Special Projects, at National Geographic, will
attend the September 5th program at the Glenwild Club.
