recently added some newer capabilities to their website. First, the site’s search
capability has been greatly expanded. Now, a user can search the entire website as
opposed to only searching through a selected category. Secondly, a scrolling text
box, or marquee, has been added to increase the visibility of “Featured Ads.” This
ensures that a customer’s ad is featured in their selected category and is also
prominently displayed in the upper section of the FreeAdLists.com homepage. The
marquee stops scrolling as soon as the user places the cursor over it. Thirdly, to
further increase ad exposure, the posters have the ability to select an “All
State/Country” option. This allows posters to have their ads viewable in statewide
or country wide listings within a particular category. Finally, a thumbnail
capability has been added. If a thumbnail is available, it is displayed in the
category area.

According to Roy Wood, the founder of the service, \"The website is growing quickly,
and poster registration has been on the rise. We are now taking on RSS/XML feeds
from various firms. I believe securing substantial XML feeds will be a big
determinant in our site’s future success.”

The site might be just another classified ads site, but it does offer services that
are more comprehensive than others who operate in this “no-frills space.”
FreeAdLists’ ability to display poster ads on the homepage and make ads searchable
statewide is a very valuable service.
