UPVC Front Doors Could Result In Significant Savings For The Average Household

Released on: April 25, 2008, 4:00 am

Press Release Author: Craig Anderson

Industry: Small Business

Press Release Summary: The average household could save hundreds of pounds every
year by switching to UPVC exterior doors, as a result of their greater energy
efficient properties, according to industry think-tank BuyDoor.net.

Press Release Body: Edinburgh, UK, 1 March 2008 ( Express-press-release ) -- The
average household in the UK could save hundreds of pounds annually simply by
changing their front door, according to a study into exterior door insulation
released by industry watchdog BuyDoor.net.

As a more energy efficient alternative to traditional doors, UPVC doorways are
better at insulating heat than wood, according to the findings of the study, which
could give rise to a tangibly lower energy bill over the course of a year for the
average UK household.

Max Scott, of BuyDoor.net, said that the duel-benefits of saving money and helping
protect the environment would make the switch a no-brainer over the coming decade.

\"People don\'t realise just how much of an impact energy efficiency can have on their
household heating bill. Simply by using a more heavily insulated UPVC door,
homeowners could find themselves saving hundreds every year on unnecessary, wasted
heating. The tide is turning however, and our report predicts that within the next
ten years the prevalence of UPVC doors will almost quadruple.\"

UPVC doorways are designed to be more insulating and rely on modern design
techniques to keep homes warmer for longer, as compared to traditional wooden
exterior doors.
