ROTARY CLUB OF CHENNAI VELACHERY MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

Press Release Summary: The newly formed Rotary Club of Chennai Velachery is
embarking on a membership drive to strengthen its base, and invites application for
membership from service-minded professionals and businessmen.

Press Release Body: In its meeting held on Sunday, 27th April 2008, the newly formed
Rotary Club of Chennai Velachery decided to start a new membership drive to
strengthen its base, to enable a successful implementation of the various projects
that have been taken up.

Towards this end, the Club invites applications from professionals and businessmen
with an orientation towards service to the society. Residents of Velachery, Adyar,
Madipakkam, Guindy and nearby areas are preferred.

The Club has already undertaken several projects to be implemented like an Eye
Donation Project, a Bus Shelter Project, a Green Velachery Project, an Interact
Club, a Vocational Training Project and a Project for Eradication of Rat Fever in
Velachery. In addition, there are plans for several long term projects, that will
seek to eradicate the problems of poverty, illiteracy, pavement dwellers, inadequacy
of basic medical facilities, old age issues, etc.

The Club meetings are held on Sundays at 9-00 a.m. at the Madras Race Club, Guindy.
