Press Release Body: Denver, Colo. — September 22, 2008 — The Excell Foundation, the
philanthropic arm of the Excell Foodservice Equipment Dealer Network, is donating
upwards of $10,000 of food service equipment and supplies to The Shade Tree, a Las
Vegas-based safe shelter for homeless and abused women and children in crisis. The
Excell Foundation will present the full donation and honor the staff and volunteers
of The Shade Tree at the first annual “Cooking Up Better Lives Invitational Golf
Tournament” on September 24, 2008 at Legacy Golf Course in Henderson, Nevada. Among
immediate supplies and equipment needed, The Shade Tree will receive a Cafeteria Hot
Food Steam Table, Countertop Fryer and Pre Rinse Faucet.

“This donation of equipment is a tremendous gift. Preparing healthy hot meals is a
critical component of assistance for the children as they prepare to go to school,
the women and babies healing from trauma, and the frail elderly that can’t leave the
building” said Marlene Richter, Executive Director of The Shade Tree. “This is just
such a perfect solution to our outdated and undersized current kitchen equipment.
Every woman and child staying with us will benefit from Excell Foundation’s
generosity.”

The Shade Tree has been serving the needs of homeless and abused women and children
in Southern Nevada for over 18 years. The organization is open to any woman, with or
without children, who lacks a safe, adequate place to live. The Shade Tree serves
3,500 women and children a year with emergency and transitional shelter program. In
addition to providing safe shelter to women and children in crisis and victims of
domestic violence, street crimes and abuse, The Shade Tree offers a job and life
skills development program, children’s activity center, animal shelter and other
programs that help break the cycle of homelessness and abuse.
