This means that anyone with a free webeden.co.uk website gets a revenue share of the advertising placed around the content on their site.
For almost two years Webeden.co.uk has given away its Sitemaker website builder for free, so that anyone can build a website that ranks up there with the pros, without having to dip in their pockets. The downside of course was that in order to make the service free, webeden.co.uk was integrated witih Google Adsense, so that adverts were placed around the site.
What's changed is that now the revenue generated by those adverts is now split between the website owner and Webeden.co.uk. This means that users can href=http://www.webeden.co.uk>build a free website, and make money from advertising on that site.
UK MD Ken Builder commented this week: "We were chuffed to be able to make Webeden.co.uk a free service, but in order to provide that service, we had to run advertising on the free websites we were giving away. The improvements made in the Google AdSense model means that we can now share that revenue with the site owner. And sticking to our principals of making everything simple, we've made it easy for customers to add this service - all they need to do is click the AdSense button in their control panel and thats it, they get credited with a share in the advertising revenue from their websites. For each click on an advert on a free website, the site owner gets 50% of the money"
Since launching the free version of their popular website builder in 2006, Webeden.co.uk have signed up over 25,000 people to the service. With the option for anyone to get a free website and make money from it, those numbers will only grow.
