DirectRooms.com – Boracay Invites Golfers To Test Their Skill In Prestigious Tournament

The Chairmans Golf Cup is one of the major tournaments of the year to take place on the island with large cash prizes on offer to the winner. Contestants will have to navigate the greens of the premier Fairways and Bluewater golf course which is the only course on the entire island. Designed by Graham Marsh the 18 hole, par 72 course will test the limits of each contestant as they avoid the natural water and rock formations that are found along the way. Golfers will be teeing off across 6,600 yards of championship greens and fairways while taking part in the event. The course was first established in 1997 with a tournament featuring some of the world’s leading golfers including Ian Woosnam and Nick Faldo. The Chairmans Golf Cup is also heralded as a prestigious event as entry is by invitation only. The origins of the tournament date back to 1990 when a group of successful businessmen established the competition in order to flaunt their skills and knowledge of the sport. Visitors to the island staying in hotels Boracay can head to the resort to watch the sporting event which will run for seven days from 11th to 17th November 2010.
