January 2012 will see Bristol City take on rivals Doncaster Rovers in one of the Npower Championship’s glamour games, and hotel room comparator has advised visitors to the city at that time to book accommodation well in advance.

Many thousands of football fans will be in town and lots choose to stay over on the night after the match – particularly those who have travelled all the way south from Doncaster. Doncaster Rovers enjoy a large away following for their matches so DirectRooms.com is warning that this could lessen people’s chances of getting a hotel in Bristol city centre.

Doncaster Rovers gained notoriety recently when purchased by wealthy backer who has set about signing as many glamour name players as possible. Recent recruit and Senegalese international El Hadji Diouf is sure to attract more fans than ever to the match.

The match date is January 21st 2012 and with Bristol City’s stadium being within easy reach of the city centre many fans may choose to make a weekend of the trip and book a couple of nights in a local hotel.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head of hotel room website DirectRooms.com, comments,“Bristol is a popular place with tourists a lot of the year round as it is and will many Doncaster fans deciding to stay over in the city centre it is likely that hotels will be busy. Booking a place to stay well ahead is the smart move in this instance."
