Bespoke Hotels has taken over a long-term lease and the management of the Cotswold House hotel and Noel Arms in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire.

The hotel management company, which has a portfolio of more than 50 properties, has acquired the lease of the two hotels from Egyptian-based Concorde Hotel Management. Concorde bought the hotels in 2007 from Ian and Christa Taylor, who ran the properties for eight years and won three Cateys: the Best Independent Marketing Campaign awards in 2005 and 2007 and the Hotel of the Year - Independent award in 2005.

Bespoke Hotels said it planned to restore the two properties to a prominent place within the community. The group's chief executive, Haydn Fentum, said he was optimistic that trade could be developed among both locals and visitors.

"Our first task is to build relations with all of the local people," he said. "We really want to play our part in the local business community and help bring more trade and visitors to the area."

Former Acorn Award winner Julian Ebbutt, who has previously worked at the Lygon Arms and the Bath Spa, has been appointed general manager of the 28-bedroom Cotswold House hotel and the 27-bedroom Noel Arms.

"I'll be focusing on building up levels of service and hospitality in both hotels and also working hard to put all of our restaurants back on the map," he said.

"This is a fantastic opportunity because there is so much going on in Chipping Campden and we want to be right at the heart of that."

Another Cotswold hotel of merit in the Bespoke portfolio is Wyck Hill House in Stow-on-the-Wold, as well as the Frogmill near Cheltenham. The company will also be opening Wood Norton Hall in Evesham later this year.
