A weekend of exciting movies and stunning views is in store for people attending the 2012 Keswick Film Festival.

Returning for its 13th edition on Thursday February 23rd, the four-day event is set to offer a diverse line-up of films from around the world and many special features.

Cinephiles can expect screenings of Lars von Trier's Melancholia, Little Moth by Chinese director Tao Peng and Paddy Considine's acclaimed directorial debut Tyrannosaur.

Other films in the programme include the screen adaptation of Sally Nicholls' novel Ways To Live Forever by Spanish director Gustavo Ron and Vacation, a Japanese feature from Hajime Kadoi.

Keswick's Theatre by the Lake will provide the venue for many of the screenings and several events, including John Hurt - In Conversation on Sunday February 26th.

The star of Alien, The Elephant Man and Midnight Express is due to take part in a question and answer session, discussing his distinguished career with the aid of clips from some of his films.

Individual film tickets are priced at £5 during the festival, while a pass that provides entry to all events is available for £45.

Movie fans seeking places to stay in Lake District will find plenty of options at LateRooms.com, which recommends Storrs Gate House in Windermere.
